Tackling Kid's Cancer This December

All we want for our children in this world is to be happy and healthy and to live long and full lives filled with happiness and joy. Sadly, though, this isn't the case for many families who have to face childhood cancer. Did you know that only 4% of government funding for cancer goes to pediatric cancer? With pediatric cancer being the number one cause of death by disease in children in the United States, we need to do more. Tackle Kids Cancer is a worthy cause deserving of our attention.

My child, Syrus, goes to elementary school. He is currently in the second grade. My husband and I thank goodness every day that he is healthy.

But a student in his school, a fourth grader is currently battling cancer. The school is taking all kinds of measures to make sure that this lovely girl doesn't miss out on too much going on at school via all different kinds of technology, where she can still be "in the classroom," while she is undergoing treatment. They have also instituted "Go Gold For Gabby" Fridays, where everyone is encouraged to wear gold for childhood cancer awareness.

No parent wants to face a cancer diagnosis. But Tackle Kids Cancer is committed to funding childhood cancer research and patient care programs that are innovative and helping to finding a cure to end pediatric cancer. So far they have raised over $5 million dollars from over 7,000 supporters.

These children that are battling such an awful disease are some of the strongest people on the planet. They have personalities that shine bright, and are positive through and through. Take for example the story of Matthew, who is committed to "Kicking Cancers Butt!";

"I’m so excited, like super-duper excited, like blow my mind up. People should totally give money to help kick cancer’s butt."

You can become one of those supporters that helps kick cancers butt. This season, it is so easy for us to not only give thanks for the healthy children in our lives, but to give hope to those in need.  Donate to Tackle Kids Cancer. It is the season of giving, after all. Anything and everything that we can give is appreciated and put to good use.
