You've gotta love summertime. The sun is shining more often than not, the sound of children's laughter wafts throughout the house, and crickets chirp beneath your windows at night. It's also the best time of year to try out our off-the-wall kitchen experiments. Sometimes, if my husband and I are bored (and hungry) enough, we will find what is in our cabinets and freezer and try throwing different things together to see how the combinations pan out. Sometimes, they actually end up in the trash, we've seem some pretty bad ones, not gonna lie. But every now and again, we come across an amazingly-fantastic-super-yummy combo that we must share with the world. Thus, we give you our dairy-free tropical fruit smoothie!
What You'll Need:
2 Cups Frozen Fruit Mixture
For this, we used a Dole mixture with peaches, mangoes, strawberries and pineapple.
- 1 Banana
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
This vegetable blossom honey is exquisite.
- 3/4 to 1 cup juice - any flavor
Use more or less at your discretion to suit your own tastes and desired consistency.
1. Pour juice and frozen fruit mixture into blender. Blend for 30 seconds or until you are satisfied with the texture.
2. Add banana pieces for creaminess.
3. Add honey to cut the tartness of the fruit.
Heaven in a glass, my friends.
This is a really yummy treat for those super-hot summer days, plus, for those sensitive little tummies, it's completely dairy free!
